Meredith Salenger

Salenger is a native of California and was born in Malibu. When she was a kid, she loved performing in front of her close family and friends. As young as eight years old she was taken by her mother to her first class in acting. The actress played the role in the film as "a singing and dancing orphan" in John Huston's feature film Annie. Salenger was also featured in the commercials of a couple of television networks. Salenger had her first leading part on screen in The Journey of Natty Gann which was a Disney film that featured John Cusack with Ray Wise. It was the very first US film to win the Gold Award from the Moscow Film Festival. It also won her "Best actress in a Drama" during the Youth in Film Awards for her performance as the sexy Natty Gann. She starred in four other films before turning 18 years old.
